Building in silence? Join Dobda.
Where
devs
together.
A safe and respectful community for solo-devs to share work-in-progress projects and receive structured, honest, and constructive feedback.
Organized Posts
Designs of posts display title, description, link and the feedback the developer wants. With that, users who give feedback, know what the developer is asking for, and can specifically look for the given issues.
Ask for constructive or freetext feedback
You can setup how you want the the feedback on your post to be structured. For constructive feedback, you can ask (max. 5) questions that should be answered.
Enforced Feedback
Users who have a larger post count than their feedback count, will be enforced to give feedback before they can post again. This is done to prevent users from spamming posts, and encourages feedback.
Quick Reviews
Feedback is annoying to write, but constructed feedback for you, is way quicker! By only answering the given questions, you are not forced to write full blown analytic reviews, only the important parts. The parts that actually matter.
What is Dobda?
Dobda is a site in which Solo Developers can share their projects with other developers, getting
constructive and structured feedback for their projects, while finding ways to improve, and reach
new possible users.
A warm, welcoming community, where perfection is not expected, it is taught, and shared.
Why was it developed?
A lot of solo developers struggle with isolation, feedback loops, or communication in general. This
community was made to fight the struggles of developers, giving a way for everybody to share their
projects, and receive feedback in a non-toxic, friendly, and warm enviroment.
Being scared of asking for feedback due to backlash is also a big reason for developers to rather stay
quiet instead of sharing, and that is what Dobda wants to change. It wants to improve the mentaility
of developers, and motivate sharing code, and giving feedback.
Solo developers need an enviroment where everybody is understanding, that is why Dobda was developed.
What will be different?
Dobda will not be like other platforms that allow for code sharing. In Dobda, developers will get motivated
to review other peoples projects.
How?
Developers will be able to share their projects, as long as they keep an appropriate ratio between reviews and
posts. For each post, the developer needs atleast one review, meaning you can only share, if you also care, for
others.
This enforces engagement, and makes sure, that people do not only share their projects, but also review each
others project.
Furthermore, we will give developers who post the opportunity, to give their feedback comments some sort of
structured FAQ the users can answer instead of writing a full feedback. This can help reduce the read time of
the developer asking for feedback, but also the write time of the developers giving feedback, as both of them
only read / write, what is actually needed.
Feedbacks will get moderated, to make sure that they are actual feedback, and not a quick comment in order to
get the privelege of posting again.
